The Streets, Metaphors, and Chemistry

Katie Zapatka is a New York City photographer searching for psychological juxtapositions among the artistic mediums. The passage of time and impermanence of the physical world has always been a curious theme within her work. Zapatka’s camera of choice is a Fuji XT2 but also shoots with an analog 120mm Yashica-A as well as a Nikon D810 with wide angle. In terms of content generation, there lies a duality in not only being a documentarian but also an experimental artist. This includes photo manipulation and digital painting.

Her influences include Bruce Davidson, Richard Prince, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Lars Von Trier.

Katie Zapatka photographs lifestyle, event, real estate, and runs social presence. Please send an email to for freelance, consultation or art inquiries.
